Create a Client Template
NOTE: You must be in Maintenance Mode to use Client Template.
At least one Client Template must be created in order to allow clients and matters to be imported into Juris from Time Matters or other third party software that may integrate with Juris, such as Client Profiles.
The Client Template is designed to complete the bridge between Juris and third party products. In order to add a new client or matter in Juris, certain information is required, such as billing timekeeper , bill format, prebill format, fee schedules, etc. This is not information that is likely to be provided from an outside vendor's software, yet new items cannot be saved in Juris until that information is provided. The templates determine 'default' values for these fields that may not be supplied by the third party software.
Any existing client may be used as a template, although it is recommended to establish a ‘fake’ client or clients to be specifically used as templates.
- Place Juris in Maintenance Mode.
-
Select Setup and Manage > Client Templates.
-
Enter a contact e-mail address if desired.
NOTE: The contact e-mail address is optional, and requires that a MAPI-compliante-mail package is installed on the machine. If the contact e-mail address is used, the system will send an e-mail notification to that contact each time a client or matter is added to Juris through an external source. This is in order to notify that contact person that an item has been added in Juris. That person may need to review the added items to change some of the default information supplied by the template, when necessary.
- In the template spreadsheet, type in a client code or use the lookup button to choose a client to use as a template.
- Repeat step 4 until all templates desired are selected (new templates may be added at any time).
-
Save the items using any of the following options:
- Click the Save icon.
- Select Form > Save from the toolbar.
- Use the keystroke shortcut Ctrl + S.
-
Juris can be returned to Normal Mode after all templates have been added.
NOTE: Typically the billing Timekeeper would be responsible for all transactions for that Client or Matter, including trust account responsibility.
